Lapeer East downs Auburn Hills Avondale and will host second round playoff game

Lapeer East High School will be hosting conference foe Linden High School for the district championship on Friday night at 7 p.m.

The Eagles dominated Auburn Hills Avondale on Friday night and now look forward to Linden, a team that handily defeated Lapeer West Saturday afternoon.

The game will be a clash of styles, as East has been dominating on offense and Linden has been shutting teams down defensively (including a pair of shutouts against West). When the two teams met on Oct. 21, East controlled the clock and the pace of the game by grinding it out for 272 yards on the ground. East won the game 24-20.

Make sure to be there Friday night to support the Eagles as they make a run at a state title.

Reminder: No outside refreshment (coffee, cider, pop, etc.) are allowed into the stadium during the game. In addition, no passes or punch cards will be accepted.
