LAPEER — Lapeer Community Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Matthew Mackinder as the District’s new Coordinator of Communications, starting February 27. In this role, Mackinder will lead the District’s communications initiatives including public information, marketing, community relations and management of the District’s digital platforms.
Mackinder is replacing the District’s outgoing Director of Communications & District Services, Jared Field, who recently accepted a new position in Genesee County.
Mackinder has many years of experience in print journalism. Most recently, Mackinder served as a reporter and editor for the Clarkston News, a publication owned by the View Newspaper Group. He has also written for numerous hockey publications including Michigan Hockey and The Red Line Report. Heearned a BA in Journalism from Wayne State University in 2001.
“We are excited to see what Matthew will bring to the District in his new position,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “He will play a vital role in effectively sharing our message in the District and throughout the community.”
Mackinder and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Goodrich and have three teen-aged children.
