Parents — As you may have noticed, there is a major water main project happening on West Genesee Street in the City of Lapeer. Up until now there have been two lanes open on the stretch between Millville Road and Village West Drive. That is about to change and we have to respond accordingly.

This new road closure will affect all buses AM and PM and, unfortunately, will result in multiple late buses until the project is completed. Because of this, we will not mark tardy students who are delayed due to this project.

For families directly impacted by the road closure, we have created a temporary bus stop at the farthest west driveway of the Big Lots/Planet Fitness parking lot (see below). Parents/students should plan to meet the bus at the temporary stop location at their normal pick up and drop off times starting Tuesday, September 5.

Be advised: Bus arrival times may vary with traffic. There will be many workers and construction vehicles moving around, so parent assistance with getting students to the temporary bus stop location is recommended. As the road construction progresses, bus stops will be adjusted.

Another option, if possible, is for you to transport your student(s) during the construction closures.
