In their final game before the teams combine next year, Lapeer East’s boys soccer team defeated Lapeer West 3-1 in the Division 2 district final at North Branch Thursday.

East’s Sean Bopra scored off of a rebound kick by Bailey Boyer with two seconds left if the first half to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.

“The first half was played really even,” East coach Bud Rowley said. “That goal really lifted our spirits and had a negative effect on them. It was a momentum turner for sure.”
