There’s nothing quite like the feeling you get when you can help turn on the light of learning for a young student. If you’ve never had the opportunity to be a tutor, here’s your chance:
The Family Literacy Center, 311 Higgins Street in Lapeer, is offering a training session for prospective tutors on January 28th and February 4th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone interested in the two-day training must have completed an orientation with FLC before the session.
Donna Woodward will be hosting an orientation Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Alternative times for orientation can also be scheduled by request.
(Click here for a description of FLC’s volunteer tutoring program.)
Tutors in the adult program must be 18 or older, but there are also opportunities for youth tutors as well.
