Monta Stangler, Lapeer East’s top running back, has already inscribed his name in the school record books this season; now, the bruising back is turning his attention to his team’s second round playoff game versus Linden on Friday night.

On Thursday, The Flint Journal published a profile of Stangler citing his prolific rushing statistics.

From Mlive:

The 5-foot-10 180-pounder was a one-man wrecking crew in the Eagles’ 48-13 first-round victory over Auburn Hills Avondale on Oct. 28 at East.

The two-year starter rushed for a game-high 208 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries while also catching three passes for 46 yards and another score.

For the season, he has rushed for a school single-season record 1,406 yards on 148 attempts (9.5 yards per carry).

He has caught 15 balls for 161 yards. He has logged 14 total scores — 11 rushing and three receiving.
