Rising: Lapeer West football team ranked in top 10 in Michigan

In the trenches: It's where most games are won. The men up front for Lapeer West have been instrumental in the team's four consecutive victories. The Panthers are now ranked 10th in the state in Division 3.

The Lapeer West Panthers, fresh off their decisive win over Swartz Creek at home on Friday night, rank among the top 10 teams in the state in Division 3 according to the Detroit Free Press.

West’s top offensive weapon, 6-3 junior wide receiver Zeshawn Jones-Parker, led the way Friday night with a pair of touchdown receptions.

The Panthers won’t have time to rest on their laurels, however, with two tough road tests ahead at Linden and Holly.

  1. Great for our community to have two good football teams! Congrats to West. The East side also has a very good team as they also sit with a 4-1 record. Hopefully BOTH teams will advance to the state playoffs and have a good run! Of course I am a bit partial to the Eagles but wish those Panthers well.
