More than 125 alumni of the Lapeer Community Schools met tuesday for the bi-monthly meeting of the Lapeer High School Alumni Association. The meeting was held at the Lapeer Area Elks Lodge #2567. Association president Dick Sullivan introduced the District’s new Communications Coordinator, Jared Field, who will facilitate the ongoing relationship between the District and its active alumni base.

Sullivan also paid tribute to the family of Dave Hobbins for memorial contributions given to the Association’s scholarship program. Hobbins, a supporter of the Lapeer Community Schools and Korean War veteran, passed away in July.

The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on November 8. Matt Wandrie, LCS Superintendent, will be the special guest.

In the meantime, mark your calendars for the Association’s scholarship fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. on October 16 at Castaway’s on Lake Nepessing.
