Statement from LCS Board of Education President Michael Keller: Superintendent Evaluation

On Wednesday evening, the Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education completed its annual evaluation of Superintendent Matt Wandrie. What follows is a statement from Board of Education President Michael Keller:

The Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education has concluded and reviewed its annual evaluation of Superintendent Matt Wandrie. The Board evaluated Mr. Wandrie’s job performance in seven individual categories including Governance and Board Relations, Community Relations, Staff Relations, Business and Finance, Instructional Leadership, Student Growth and Progress Towards District Goals. 

On behalf of the Board of Education, I am proud to announce that Superintendent Wandrie received an effective overall rating. In addition, members approved the renewal of Mr. Wandrie’s contract for another year. 

Now in his eighth school year as superintendent, Mr. Wandrie has consistently demonstrated the strong leadership qualities and strategic vision necessary to move the District forward. Under his leadership, the District has embraced innovation like never before and has witnessed growth in student achievement as a result.  Lapeer Community Schools has one of the most dynamic academic programs in the region and is now home to the top two highest-performing elementary schools in Lapeer County. The results speak for themselves.
