LHS offers new opportunity for students interested in mentoring

A group of 12th grade students participated in a peer mentor program this year, and it has already paid dividends for the peer mentors as well as the students in I-Connect classes that participated.

Peer mentors reported growth in the following areas:  self-reflection, confidence, close and critical reading skills, communication, problem-solving skills and leadership abilities.  Our 10th grade students have been impacted as well by having more support in the development of close & critical reading skills as well as building positive relationships with their classmates and the peer mentors.

Because of our realized success, we want to “scale up” our efforts and offer this opportunity to interested 17-18 seniors. Please see the LHS Peer Mentor Application.
