Two lucky fans will have chance to win a Lincoln MKS at East homecoming game

It’s a grand prize no one could mistake for a throw-in, though that’s exactly what you’d have to do to drive away in it.

Tomorrow night at halftime of Lapeer East’s homecoming football game versus Swartz Creek, two lucky fans will have an opportunity to win a brand new 2012 Lincoln MKS by throwing a football through its moonroof from 40 yards.

Just drop it in and drive away.

The contest is sponsored by Imlay City Ford Lincoln and Kohl, Harris, Nolan, McCarthy, Turkelson & Ogden, P.C. of Metamora and Caro.

To get a shot at the Lincoln MKS, participants* must purchase a raffle ticket for $1 (arm’s length for $5). Tickets will be sold prior to the game and through the first quarter. The two lucky winners will be announced at the end of the first quarter. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Lapeer East Athletic Boosters.

Lapeer East principal Scott Roper said there will be winners, regardless of the outcome of the halftime spectacle.

“This is a fun and creative way to raise funds for athletics at East,” Roper said. “Even if no one drives away in a brand new Lincoln, our athletic programs will benefit greatly. Our school is certainly excited and very grateful for the opportunity.”

*Current and former professional or semi-professional football players as well as college and varsity football players going back five years are not allowed to participate.
